Sustainability
Golden Brook has always been considerate when optimising the efficiency and sustainability of the homes we create. Whether that's making the right choice for a more thermally suitable material, or planning green energy production into the build.

The UK is legally required to become net zero by 2050. Yet, how we currently heat and power the 28 million homes in the UK accounts for a fifth of the country's carbon emissions (Energy Saving Trust, 2021). Therefore, new homes must be designed and built to release less embodied and operational carbon to achieve this.
This, plus the rising cost of living, has resulted in the increasingly vital need to adopt energy-efficiency solutions combined with on-site electricity generation. We can lessen the demand for harmful fossil fuels and reduce homeowners' bills and dependence on the grid.
At Golden Brook, considerations for carbon reduction begin at the design stage, from roof orientation, window placement and construction materials, to operational efficiency and end-of-life deconstruction. We optimise our homes to become as self-sufficient and low-impact as possible.
At Golden Brook, we have 3 Golden Rules:
Reduce energy demand.
Increase efficiency by getting more out of every kW of energy.
Reduce carbon emissions in the energy supply.
